EGONOMIST

We invented counting to keep everyone fed, then turned the balance sheet into a battlefield.

Economics began as oikonomia—the simple, humble stewardship of a shared home. When ego took the pen, sharing became scoring, and counting became conquest. The math never shed a drop of blood; it is only the pride behind the balance sheet that demands a sacrifice.

The name

Third Seat

The person who can read the book, and refuse a line that skipped the order. Not a new coin. Not a quieter name for the printer. Egonomic Anonymous keeps the long work. This is the door a room can open with nothing in the till.

00hash. The person before profit. The floor is raised for everyone, and fenced by no one. Plain words.

Chapter · a reading, not a mint

How to read this chapter

The Third Seat is a rule of refusal inside a posted order. This chapter states the rule, says what it is not, and checks it against a fact that arrived after the chapter was first written: on 28 October 2026 the Depository Trust Company launched a tokenization service. Numbers in the press release are quoted as numbers. A figure that comes from a later report is marked as secondary. Nothing here is an offer, a forecast, or advice to buy or sell a security.

1. Terms

A term means what this book uses it to mean. If a later page drifts, the definition here is the one the refusal is read against.

TermIn this bookWorked at
SeatA place that can act, and that must live under the same order it asks others to live under./refusal
Third seatThe person. Can read the book and refuse a line that skipped the order. Not a coin and not an office./third-seat
FloorA basket paid first, from surplus already named. Senior to a new print./claim
TapeThe public lines that must be shown: title, mint, lien, conversion, agent act./show

2. The claim, and what it is not

Proposition 2.1. The third seat is a person who can read a posted order and refuse a line that skipped it.

Proposition 2.2. The person who refuses is bound by the same order. No office, and no person, receives a quieter rule.

Proposition 2.3. The third seat is not a currency, not a government, and not a license to print.

The analogy with separated powers is limited, and the limit is the point. In Federalist 51 Madison writes that ambition must be made to counteract ambition, and that the interest of the person must be connected with the rights of the place. [1] The third seat borrows the check. It does not borrow a department of government.

Tsebelis defines a veto player as an actor whose agreement is required before the status quo can change. [2] That is stronger than this book. The state may still tax. The firm may still issue. The third seat does not have to sign their act. It may refuse to treat, as policy, a line that skipped the order. The refusal is a record. It is not a second government.

Hirschman separates exit, voice, and loyalty. [3] Exit leaves. Voice stays and objects. The third seat is voice that stays on the tape. It is not a threat to depart, and it is not loyalty to a hidden print.

Two further distinctions keep the floor from being mistaken for a theory of justice. Rawls’s difference principle is a rule for judging basic institutions by the position of the least advantaged. [4] Sen’s capability approach asks what a person is able to do and be. [5] Floor-first is neither. It is an accounting seniority: a named basket is paid before a remainder is titled, and it is paid from surplus already named. Ostrom’s work shows that people can govern a shared resource without collapsing the choice into “market or state.” [6] This chapter uses that warning against a false pair. It does not claim her results as evidence for this desk.

3. A sequence, not a price level

Buchanan’s late argument is that the value of the monetary unit has to sit in the rules of the game, not be played as a counter inside the game. The article opens on two sentences: “The market will not work effectively with monetary anarchy. Politicization is not an effective alternative.” [7] This book does not take up his further question, which is a rule for the unit’s value. It takes up a narrower constitution: the order in which a line may be called policy.

Kydland and Prescott showed that a plan which is optimal at the start can be abandoned later, and that the expectation of abandonment changes the plan’s effect. [8] A rule that can be rewritten in private is not a rule. That is why the status tape on this site says an unpublished change is not a change. The tape is the precommitment. The third seat is the person who can point at a missing line.

4. New information: DTC, 28 October 2026

Primary source. On 28 October 2026 the Depository Trust Company, a subsidiary of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, launched the DTCC Tokenization Service. The release says the service is integrated with the Canton Network and DTCC’s private Besu network, with further networks to be added in 2027. It says DTC has more than $114 trillion in assets under custody. It says twenty DTC participants had signed agreements to access the service, and it names them. It says a December 2025 no-action letter from the staff of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission authorized DTC to tokenize Russell 1000 constituents, exchange-traded funds that track major indices, and U.S. Treasury securities. [9] [10]

The twenty names in that release, as of its date, are Alpaca, Apex Clearing Corporation, Barclays, Bank of America, BNP Paribas, Brown Brothers Harriman, Citadel Securities, Citi, Clear Street, DriveWealth, Edward Jones, Fidelity Investments, Interchange Clearing, J.P. Morgan, Marex, Mirae Asset Securities (USA), Morgan Stanley, State Street, UBS, and Velocity Capital. A later signing or a withdrawal would change the list. This chapter does not keep a live roster.

Secondary source, kept separate. CoinDesk reported on the same day that a DTCC spokesperson put the eligible securities at launch near $30 trillion of market value, and that a product page then listed 34 securities. [11] That figure is not in the press release quoted above. It is not used here as a measure of custody, and it is not a forecast.

What the law of the token still is. DTC’s own request for the no-action position says the preliminary service would not change the ultimate custodian of record, and that DTC would remain the securities intermediary for the subject securities under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code. [10] A security entitlement under that article is a claim against the intermediary, not a seizure of the underlying certificate. [12] Commissioner Peirce’s statement of 11 December 2025 describes the program as tokenization of entitlements that DTC participants hold through DTC, transferred between registered wallets, with DTC’s books remaining the official record. [13]

What this changes for the third seat

  • Speed of the pipe is not a shown floor. A same-day entitlement can still skip the basket.
  • A tokenized entitlement is still an entitlement. It is not the self-custody the third seat is sometimes sold as.
  • The person may refuse to call the launch a new constitution of money. The sequence in section 3 was not adopted by the release.
  • The full reading of the retail position is Countermeasure. This section does not replace it.

Not an endorsement of a DTCC product, and not advice to buy or sell a security.

5. The order as a test

Each step has a pass and a fail. The plates lower on this page are the same eight steps, written for a sitting. The links are the pages where the step is worked.

6. Limits of the evidence

This chapter is a design and a reading. It is not a finding that the order raises welfare, wages, or the basket. No sample, no trial, and no identified dataset is offered. The sitting recorded below — basket 100, fee 1, remainder 5 — is a specimen on this desk. The help under it is locked. It is not accepted. The desert has not been sent. A specimen is not a result.

The DTC facts in section 4 are as current as the documents cited. They do not settle whether tokenized entitlements will later be recognized inside DTC’s own margin framework, what the fees will be, or which names will remain on the list. Where the document is silent, this chapter is silent.

Plate · first seat

The state

It can tax, and in a crisis it can expand the base. The book does not take that away. It puts the order in front of it.

Second seat

The firm

It can issue credit and keep limited liability. The book does not close the firm. A hidden loss is still not a privilege.

Third seat

The person

Read the book. Refuse a line that skipped the order. Be bound by that same order. No office gets a quieter rule, and neither does the person.

Write the three numbers.

Basket, fee, remainder. They stay on this desk, in this browser. Nothing is sent. Zero is an honest remainder. Leave a line blank until the room can say it aloud.

10 October 2026

The sitting is filled. One help is locked.

Basket 100, fee 1, remainder 5. The remainder is already named. The help is paid from that, not from a print. Live execution of this book stops here. The lock stays on the record. It is not accepted. No proof is in. The desert is zero, and it has not been sent. The next performance is written at lgme.app, not on this desk.

How you get paid

A room pays its basket on the date, from money already saved, then names the remainder. A specimen fee is not collected on this desk. The room may not spend the basket, and it may not invent the fee after the loss.

Where a count fits

Do not use a featured token as the wage or the tight price. The public pool is thin. A thin book stays wide. HBAR pays the network fee. This desk does not meter a token.

Which wallet

Open HashPack. Leave a little HBAR for the fee the app shows. Your account is your own. This desk does not name a club account.

Goods and services. Written on accept.

The thing can be a surprise. The charge cannot. Shipping and handling, expenses, and a small desert are posted before anyone accepts. The line is written only when it is accepted. A refusal writes nothing and pays nothing.

  1. 01

    Post the three charges

Shipping and handling. Expenses. A small desert. No fourth number.

  2. 02

    Write on accept

The tape takes the line only after a person accepts. Until then it is an offer, not a debt.

  3. 03

    Desert funds the floor

The small desert is titled to the next basket. It is not a quiet profit, and it is not a print.

Shipping and handling, and the expenses, go to whoever bore them. The desert, if the room posted one, is titled to the floor. It is not collected on this desk. It does not price the good. If the desert is zero, this exchange does not fund the basket. The meter is not stretched to cover the gap. You still sign in HashPack. This page does not take the payment.

From Gorosen

A posted help funds the floor.

Gorosen pays a person for a small help a machine cannot do. A poster locks the pay. A helper does the work and shows proof. The pay moves when the proof is accepted. That is the method. Their coins, gems, and prize wheels are not. A wheel is a print. A locked pay is a book.

  1. 01 Name the help, and post three charges before anyone claims it: the pay for the work, the expenses, and a small desert. Shipping and handling only if a thing moves.
  2. 02 The line is written when a person accepts the help, not when it is advertised. A claim that is not finished releases the lock. Nothing is kept for looking.
  3. 03 Proof is shown. Pay moves only when that proof is accepted. The helper is paid in a stable unit, not in a featured token and not in a point.
  4. 04 The small desert is titled to the floor. It is not collected on this desk, and it stays for the next basket. It does not pay the helper.

Floor from accepted helps: 0

This tally stays in the browser. A desert of zero adds nothing. A specimen desert is not collected on this desk.

One room can run this with no treasury: the poster locks only what the poster already has. If the desert is zero, this help does not fund the basket. The meter is not stretched. HashPack signs. This page does not hold the pay.

    Start here.

    5. Pay for a chain write only when a line must be shown, and post that fee.
